Computer Training Program

About the Program

Our Computer Training Program is designed to empower both young learners and adults with essential computer skills. We understand that in our increasingly connected world, digital literacy is not just an advantage but a necessity. The program goes beyond teaching computer skills; it opens doors to educational, employment, and personal growth opportunities. As our students learn and connect with the world, they become equipped to shape a brighter future for themselves and their communities.

Highlights
  • Youth Empowerment: We provide computer lessons to young individuals, offering a foundation in essential software such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and more.

  • Access to Technology: Many of our students have limited access to computers at school or home, making our program a crucial resource for bridging the digital divide.

  • Inspiring Testimonials: Our students’ success stories speak for themselves, as they transition from computer novices to technology-savvy individuals.

  • Digital Inclusion: We opened up a world of opportunities by providing our students with internet access, enabling them to explore a universe of information and resources.

  • Certification: Our program includes the opportunity for students to receive certificates of completion, recognizing their hard work and dedication.

Student Testimonial

My name is Wilson Wanjiru from Kinangop currently pursuing a diploma in information communication technology (ICT) at Nairobi institute of business studies NIBS. I chose this course when I started learning the basics at Bariki center at our hometown. The tutor of Bariki is my great friend who influenced me to join the classes which I found interesting and got the gut to complete the course. When I started the computer session at Bariki I was in third year in a local high school in 2021 and could manage taking computer lessons only on weekends. That was the first time for me to see a computer and I attended the computer classes at Bariki center every single weekend. Learning the basics has greatly contributed towards the choice of my career in computer science. At Bariki center I learnt the software and hardware components of a computer, which to me is not a new thing now as it is to my fellow classmate at the college. My desire is a computer engineer and computer programmer. During the school holidays I will be going home and go at Bariki to help students there with my new learnt computer knowledge. The reason for writing this is to aspire those students out there who we share the same dreams of computing to know about Bariki and join students to learn about computers. I am so happy for Bariki center for helping me realize my dream and I am now studying computer information in college.
